Mahjong combi

Goal

Clear all stones by making combinations of the same type.

How does it work?

Use your mouse to select 2 identical tiles to create a pair. Below you'll see two examples of matching pairs:

You can only make pairs using exposed stones. A stone is exposed when at least one of its long sides has no neighbouring tile. When a tile is enclosed by other tiles you can't use it to make a valid combination. The example below illustrates tiles that can be combined into a matching pair:

In this example the “one” tile in the middle is enclosed by other tiles, making it impossible to combine the “one” into a matching pair:

The various sets of tiles and their value

A Mahjong game consists of several sets of tiles, totalling 146 tiles. You can choose various starting grids.

The suits:

  • Numbers: 4 sets of 9 tiles: 36 tiles
  • Bamboos: 4 sets of 9 tiles: 36 tiles
  • Dots: 4 sets of 9 tiles: 36 tiles
  • Wind directions: 4 sets of 4 tiles: 16 tiles
  • Dragons: 3 sets of 4 tiles : 12 tiles
  • Flowers: 4 sets of 2 tiles: 8 tiles
  • Shuffle: 2 sets of 1 tile: 2 tiles

Score:

  • 2 matching numbers: 5 points
  • 2 matching bamboos: 5 points
  • 2 matching dots: 5 points
  • 2 matching wind directions: 15 points
  • 2 matching dragons: 25 points
  • 2 matching flowers: 50 points

For each combination of a suit and its matching stone you receive a certain amount of points (depending on the suit). For every following combination of a pair of the same suit you combo bonuspoints!

Score combo bonuspoints:

  • 1st combination = value tile
  • 2nd combination = value tile + 5 points
  • 3rd combination = value tile + 10 points
  • 4th combination = value tile + 20 points
  • 5th combination = value tile + 30 points
  • 6th combination = value tile + 45 points
  • 7th combination = value tile + 60 points
  • 8th combination = value tile + 85 points
  • 9th combination = value tile + 110 points
  • 10th combination = value tile + 110 + 40 points
  • etc.

Exposed pairs

The "exposed pairs" indicate how many combinations are left in the game. When there are no combinations left, there are three options to continue playing:

Shuffle stones

There are two shuffle stones present in the game. When the shuffle stones become visible you can select them to shuffle the board. New combinations will become possible.

Buy hint

You can always buy a hint. For 30 points a combination will become visible.

Shuffle the board

If you want to create new combinations you can shuffle the board for 100 points. New possibilities will become visible on the board.

Bonusgame

By collecting sufficient bonusstars you can play the bonusgame. You can win extra credits!

Note: The bonusgame can only be played in “Play For Real” mode.
